Sea Temperature: 8ºC
Weather: Glorious sunshine
Max Speed: 27.1 (knots - unless stated otherwise)

Wooohooo.... what a day. It's not often that I get excited about a flat water session, but with glorious sunshine and the steadiest 20 knot Easterly ever it was just heaven. There wasn't a single gust or lull it was just dead on 20 knots the whole time.

I went out with my 5.7m and Sputnik hoping to get some nice speed runs. There wasn't quite enough wind for any true speed runs but I managed about 26 knots on every single run and did get it up to 27.1 knots at a maximum... Just non stop flat water blasting with the whole estuary to myself.... The Sputnik was a joy to sail as well, really smooth with a nice locked in feeling. Had loads of mad flat out, no-handed runs with both my hands trailing in the water.... Nice!

Covered 40 nautical miles as well which was some going. It also got really warm with the sunshine and it is now about 17ºC sunny and still blowing in the estuary. Had to stop in the end unfortunately as I had to go to work, but could have spent all day there.... Perfect.
